Family Service Associate
_ Assist with the coordination and implementation of services to families enrolled in Early Childhood Services Program as required by the Head Start Performance Standards and state and federal mandates.
_ Ensure quality program service delivery.
_ Protect the privacy of customers/families and hold in confidence all information obtained in the course of service.
_ Coordinate Family Partnership Agreements, Family Goals Sheet and other tools to provide customized services to families.
_ Coordinate and conduct application visits and assure the proper documentation for eligibility.
_ Provide assistance to families to facilitate their participation in parent education opportunities, workshops, support groups, family plans and other opportunities.
_ Support the family by indentifying resources which will assist them in meeting documented needs or requests.
_ Make all efforts to assure the safety and well-being of all program participants.
_ Make home visits to prepare plans, complete referral information.
_ Assist in the recruitment and enrollment process to ensure that as many families as possible are provided with Early Childhood Services.
_ Attend community meetings and events as needed to support the agency programs.
_ Participate in personal and professional development activities, including staff meetings, conferences, training opportunities, and other training options as identified and approved by supervisors.
_ Work with teaching staff and parent committees to plan and implement parent events and meetings.
_ Complete necessary program documentation and record keeping in a neat & timely manner, using an approved system.
_ Attend community meetings and events as needed to support the Agency’s programs.
_ Assist in the collection of in-kind.
_ Assist teaching staff with child files follow-ups (e.g. attendance, health/vision/hearing screenings).
_ Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
_ Two-year degree in an Early Childhood Development or Family Studies/Social Work field.
_ Minimum of two years’ experience with programs for young children and their families.
_ Must have good written and oral communication skills.
_ Must be self-directed, multitasked, able to coordinate the completion of assigned tasks, and be willing to accept new challenges.
_ Must have Proficient Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet).
_ Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, provide proof of insurance, pass State Police criminal clearance check and MMCAA’s “Insurance Carriers” driving record review.
_ Successfully complete Criminal History and DHS clearance procedures at time of hire and when requested at any time during employment.
_ Shall provide written report by a physician stating their physical capability and freedom from communicable tuberculosis.
_ Must be physically capable of performing CPR (with appropriate training).
_ The job duties require a working cell phone for accessibility to supervisors, clients, or co-worker or to enhance personal safety while away from the office location.
_ Must comply with Agency smoke free and drug free policies.
