Full time position currently available for the Early Head Start Program in Gladwin County:

Job Postition:

Early Head Start Home Visitor

Responsible to:

Early Head Start Educator

General Responsibilties:

Responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of the state-funded Early Head Start grant. Provide Early Head Start services to identified families who have a child 0-3 years old.

Specific Duties:

• Develop a Family Contact Plan, Family Service Plan, and child development goals utilizing a strength-based, culturally sensitive approach.
• Develop and enhance nurturing relationships with the families and child’s caregiver to build rapport and support opportunities.
• Utilize various parenting education resources to assist families in understanding child development, appropriate expectations, and positive attachment and bonding skills.
• Advocate for the families as deemed appropriate and make appropriate referrals and/or contact for resources with collaborating professionals and agencies.
• Complete the necessary paperwork as required by the contract agreement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in child development, Early Childhood Education, or another related field with a minimum of 2 years working with young children and their families. Associate’s degree accepted with 5 or more years experience working with young children and their families.
• Shall allow a Family Independence Agency and State Police records check at employment and when requested.
• Shall provide written report by a physician stating their physical capability and freedom from communicable tuberculosis.
• Valid drivers license including up to date proof of automobile insurance
• The job duties require a working cell phone for accessibility to supervisors, clients, or co-worker or to enhance personal safety while away from the office location. 

Salary:

$8.50-$12.00/hour
