We’re proud to partner with MichiganWorks! Region 7B through their Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) program!

Thanks to IWT funding, Craig, an Energy Auditor for
Weatherization, and Karen, a Food Distribution Driver, went through CDL training to build skills, grow professionally, and keep essential services moving throughout our communities. Craig has received his CDL-A and Karen is studying to complete her exam.

The IWT program supports employers in upskilling their current workforce—enhancing job stability, improving earning potential, and strengthening service delivery.

Thank you to MichiganWorks! for investing in our team and helping us continue to serve mid-Michigan families with excellence and care!

We’re proud to partner with MichiganWorks! on an exciting opportunity for our Preschool Associate Teachers—the Child Care Development Specialist Apprenticeship!

This apprenticeship supports hands-on learning and professional growth in early childhood education while working directly in the classroom.

A big congratulations to Calin, the first participant in the program! Calin is one of our amazing Associate Teachers, and we’re so excited to support her in this next step.

Pictured: Calin signing her apprenticeship agreement with our Head Start Program Manager, Nicole, and staff from MichiganWorks!

Thank you to MichiganWorks! for helping make this opportunity possible and for supporting the development of early childhood professionals!

A Partnership for Housing Hope

11/25/2024

This Homeless Awareness Month, we’re celebrating Mike, a dedicated landlord who partners with us to provide safe, clean, and affordable housing, helping those experiencing housing insecurity transition to stability.

A Commitment to Community:
Mike’s partnership is invaluable—he provides well-maintained housing and helps connect tenants with resources to overcome challenges.

Why Mike Works With Us:
"I work with Mid Michigan Community Action because everyone needs a home. I try to provide safe, clean places to live and make a home. . . . I try to work with the whole person, not just the immediate circumstance."

A Message to the Community:
"Homelessness happens every day . . . often due to circumstances beyond control. Everyone needs a hand up, not a handout."

Mike’s compassion and dedication remind us all that creating safe and stable housing is a collective effort. Community participation is vital in ending homelessness!

If you’re a landlord interested in working with us, call or text 1-877-213-5955 or email [email protected] to learn more.

If you are facing housing challenges, reach out for support at 1-877-213-5955 or email [email protected]. Services are available for individuals, families, youth, and veterans across Arenac, Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Mecosta, and Osceola Counties as well as veterans who are unhoused or at risk of homelessness in Lake, Newaygo, Midland, and Saginaw Counties.
