Mid Michigan Community Action was founded in 1966 as part of a national effort to fight poverty at the local level. Since then, we’ve grown to serve communities across Central and Western Michigan through a wide range of programs focused on stability, opportunity, and self-sufficiency.

2024: Completion of latest Community Needs Assessment
2025: Jill Sutton retires after more than 35 years, Mark Polega is named the new Executive Director

Originally serving Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Mecosta, Midland, and Osceola Counties, we now provide services in Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Mecosta, Midland, Muskegon, Oceana, and Osceola Counties, adapting to the unique needs of each community.
