At this year's VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Recognition Ceremony, Mid Michigan Community Action received the Change Accelerator Recognition and was in the top three Change Accelerators in the country.

With the hard work of our volunteers, we were able to convert a 100% in-person program to a 100% virtual program!

The work we accomplish with this program would not be possible without our dedicated volunteers, so we would like to humbly thank all our VITA volunteers for helping to provide tax preparation services in our communities.

During this year's tax season, our 25 VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) volunteers (two pictured above) processed 691 returns bringing $576,712 back into our communities to help individuals and families.

Each year, our volunteers do incredible work for this program, and this year in particular they continued to deliver this valuable program while adapting to processing low-contact returns to comply with social distancing procedures.

Thank you to each and every one of our volunteers for making this program possible!
