​Announcements

Board of Directors Meeting—Our next board of directors meeting is February 25th at 4:30PM. To accommodate ongoing social distancing measures, the meeting will be open to the public virtually by calling 1-712-775-7031 and using access code 857-611-943#.
KN95 Mask Distribution—We are distributing KN95 masks at commodity distribution sites! See the calendar to find the next distribution near you. There is no need to register, simply attend the distribution.
Early Childhood Services—We are still enrolling and helping families during the pandemic.
Early Head Start—For parents and caregivers feeling alone or socially isolated, our program is here to support those who are pregnant or have children from birth through three. Call 1-877-386-4406 or complete an interest form online.
Preschool Head Start—For parents and caregivers feeling stressed or overwhelmed, our program provides children from 3 through 5 structured play time, activities, and learning opportunities as well as whole family support. Call 989-386-8075 or complete an application online.
Breastfeeding Support—Michigan WIC offers a warmline: 833-649-4223. The line is available 7 days a week from 8AM-8PM for anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding, not just WIC clients! If you are a WIC client and cannot reach your peer counselor, call the warm line for immediate assistance.
Gladwin Flood Relief—The Gladwin Long Term Recovery Group is coordinating with volunteer crews to schedule reconstruction assistance for flood survivors with primary residences in Gladwin County. Survivors in need of reconstruction help should call Gladwin County Disaster Case Manager, Carla Long, at 989-598-4315 as soon as possible or dial 2-1-1.

​Services Now Available in Muskegon and Oceana Counties—We are expanding to serve low-income individuals and families in Muskegon and Oceana Counties with programs aimed at giving households a hand up toward self-sufficiency.
Virtual Services—Effective March 23rd, in an effort to ensure the health and safety of our customers, volunteers and staff, Mid Michigan Community Action is transitioning to offering services over the phone. Offices will be closed to the public during this time. While our offices are closed, most services are still available. Please contact your local office for more information.
​We take the safety of our customers, volunteers, and staff very seriously and will continually be monitoring the situation based on guidance from the CDC, state and local governments.

Each month, we host two Neighborhood Meetings to discuss our programs and services and answer your questions! To allow for social distancing, our upcoming meetings will be held virtually on Zoom.

Senior Food Distribution Calendar

​If you are in need of food but you are not a senior commodity food customer, or you are a senior commodity food customer, but you need more food, please contact 2-1-1 for referrals to local food pantries in your area.

​Commodity food distributions have a few changes to ensure the health and safety of all involved: Please remain in your vehicle when you arrive at the site. We will be checking you in from your car and will place your food box in your trunk.  If the line is too full to safely enter, please park your vehicle in a parking spot and wait. Do not block entrances or exits with your vehicle. We will remain on site until all customers have received their food. Private site distributions will also continue. We will modify our procedures for each unique setting.
