Disaster Relief Training in Action!

Our HUD Certified Housing Counselors joined six other agencies for a hands-on disaster response training exercise held at the Gladwin County Fairgrounds.

The training simulated a Point of Distribution mission, focusing on setting up a shelter and processing victims in a disaster scenario. Participants guided simulated victims through registration, health assessments, HUD counseling, and more—gaining valuable experience in a multi-agency emergency response.

A big thank you to Emergency Manager Bob North, the Civil Air Patrol, Gladwin County Emergency Management, and all participating agencies for creating such a meaningful training opportunity.

Certificate of Appreciation from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA)

We are honored to receive a Certificate of Appreciation from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) in recognition of our continued commitment to advancing housing counseling excellence and strengthening our partnership with the Housing Education Program (HEP) to serve families across Michigan.

Stacy recently passed her exam and is now officially a HUD-Certified Housing Counselor—way to go, Stacy!

Reflecting on the journey, Stacy shared:

"I've learned that the world of Housing Counseling has many, many facets. I cannot wait to dive in and continue learning hands on! I am very excited for this new chapter and working with customers to provide the education and knowledge necessary to become successful homeowners."

Stacy will be working with the Key To Own program, which pairs closely with the Financial Self-Sufficiency Program. She’ll also be leading Financial Capabilities classes—and so much more!

We’re so proud to have Stacy on our team and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll make supporting future homeowners!
