💙 Today, we’re spotlighting Michelle, LPN, our Early Childhood Services Program Nurse.
Michelle supports the health needs of our Early Head Start and Head Start Preschool families, including health and nutrition education. This behind-the-scenes work helps make sure children can start out healthy and families have the support they need to thrive, learn, and grow with confidence. Michelle says she has felt welcomed since her first day at Mid Michigan Community Action. “Everyone I have interacted with has been very kind and helpful,” Michelle shared. “They are all compassionate about their work, and I love that!” Michelle sees her role as one piece of a bigger puzzle, with each part helping support the health needs of children and families. When we asked what motivates her to do her best work each day, Terri said it’s the reminder that she can make a difference, “even if it is small and hard to immediately see.” Terri loves working with children with developmental, behavioral, or learning needs, their families, and the staff who work hard to support them. She brings both professional experience and personal understanding to her role, and she hopes her work helps remind families that they are not alone.
