"Being able to help with everyday needs for families that are struggling and help them reach their goals makes me feel happy. Mostly everyone goes through a time that they need that extra help, so knowing that I’m able to help with all our programs is a great feeling!"

​Congratulations to MaryJo, our Veteran Coordinator, one of our April featured employees!

As Veteran Coordinator, MaryJo assists veterans and their families who are experiencing housing insecurity.

We asked MaryJo what she likes about her job, and this is what she had to say:

"I really enjoy the tight knit team 
that we have in the Homeless Department. We have each other’s backs and always give each other a listening ear and directive when we are struggling. It doesn’t matter what office site I end up in; I know I can count on any of the Regional Coordinators or case managers for assistance if needed.

"Since working here, I have found a passion in ending Veteran Homelessness, and I appreciate the opportunities and collaboration I receive with/from community partners."

Cassandra is a Family Service Associate with our Preschool Head Start program. She helps support children and teachers in the classroom and works to connect families with all kinds of resources.
We were able to speak with Cassandra about what she loves about working with the agency, and this is what she had to say:

"I love helping and supporting families that are in need and who are not as fortunate when it comes to retrieving basic needs and just knowing that I can incorporate some positivity into their day. I love being able to support the teaching staff during the school year and interacting with the children."
